Guide - PlayJector

PlayJector

The Playjector.exe is a low-level interface to a new family of five virtual media drivers for the Windows OS.  These drivers emulate physical hardware so that Windows games and applications are not aware that they are streaming live over the internet.  As real-time media applications, video games don't virtualize well, so instead of virtualizing or containerizing them we have created new media drivers that look like normal local hardware to Windows applications but are actually little web servers that stream input and media directly to remote browser connections.  When a user connects to a Playcast server their browser thinks it is talking to an ordinary webserver when it is actually talking directly to the Playcast media drivers.  The Playjector.exe is a real-time OS that routes all of these communications.  These drivers are what enable Playcasting to work with all games and applications without modification or containerization.

Think of a Playcast connection as own a PC with 1000mi long monitor, mouse, keyboard, game controller and USB camera cables.
